The Faces of Expression
Makeup is all about exploration and experimentation. With the cosmetics industry valued at $429 billion in 2023 and projected to grow steadily, makeup continues to shape culture, identity, and self-expression. That's why three young writers have been dedicating their time to writing a blog about discovering the potential of makeup as young adults. This blog is all about sharing their opinions and thoughts with makeup. Their mission is all about highlighting makeup as an art form and a powerful means of self-expression.
Psalm Ildefonso is an artist who loves discovering new techniques and perspectives through makeup. With a background in multimedia storytelling and digital content creation, she is able to use makeup as a creative outlet to express her individuality, artistry, and evolving style. Her passion lies in learning and highlighting makeup as a tool for artistic experimentation.
Katherine Castellano is completely new to the world of cosplay and eager to begin her creative journey. With cosplay participation rising worldwide, Katherine seeks to improve her makeup skills step by step. She aims to learn how to recreate 2D characters in real life through trial and error, hoping that with practice and experience, she will develop confidence in knowing what she can accomplish and how to improve doing it.
Tannah Fabia is a student researcher in skincare-conscious beauty. As someone who deals with psoriasis, she aims to educate herself and others on sustainable techniques. Her main goal is to advocate for safer cosmetic practices within the beauty industry. From her experience, skin sensitivity is an overlooked factor when manufacturing makeup products, despite its prevalence. She believes that everyone should be able to express themselves through vibrant makeup, without damaging what's underneath.
Together, these three writers combine creative exploration, product research, and personal experience to showcase makeup as a form of modern artistry and inclusive self-expression.
